BETTER (AND HEALTHIER) THAN BETTY CROCKER - HOMEMADE BISCUITS
𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦:
- 2 cups of loosely packed all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 6 tablespoons of cold, unsalted butter (cubed or grated)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (can substitute honey)
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 3/4 cups of milk
𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
- Add in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the milk, mixing until just combined. Do not over mix.
- Knead the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 3/4-inch thick circle.
- Use a biscuit cutter or a knife to cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
